I'm back!!!

I am back and it has been ALOT of changes since I last posted. I lost my job in November 2020 and was rehired in a completely different department in July 2021. Khari started playing baseball which he is amazing at. It's surreal sometimes when your child does similar activites or skills as you at a young age. I'm coaching the team which is a Blast! The kids are excited to play with the same love I once had for baseball. I started a consulting business. Oh yeah and We had Baby Number 2! Yeah Amari Dean Miller who will be 6 months in a few weeks. I know some people were concerned about having children during this pandenmic but we talked about and were confident that everything would work out fine. One thing about life is it keeps going no matter what is going on. So yeah that pretty much everything that has happened since I last posted. But I am back and will be posting weekly moving forward. After I lost my job while going through a pandemic was alot for me. I was finally moving...

Here are 6 tips to have a successful event. Follow these tips and your kids party will be fun and run smoothly. This can even apply to other events. 1. Plan Ahead: The earlier the better. I recommend 1-3 months kids party. Social events can be from 3 months to a year. Factoring in travel for guests coordinating facilities budgeting. If you have a venue in mind they may book months in advance.  2. Have A Budget: You want to make sure you know where the money is going for the event. Some items may be cheaper to provide on your own. There are plenty of ways to make your event happen with a budget you have. YouTube is your best resource. Creativity is key! 3. Have a Guest Count: The amount of guests can drastically change your total cost on a party. Having an accurate count can keep you with budget. Example if you are paying $20 per person the more guests you have the higher the number goes up. Also think about siblings everyone forgets the siblings. 4. Make a list: Having a li...

Parenting during coronavirus

It is Day 1000 on lockdown because of the coronavirus. Parents across the country are being forced to be at home with their children. There are some plus sides to this that I will touch on later. I would be irresponsible to not go over this first. So I'm listening to the radio and a woman brought up a good point. Schools for some children is actually their safe haven from whatever is waiting for the them at home. So check on those children make sure they are alright. All children deserve to be somewhere they feel safe, loved, and welcomed. One thing I have taken out of this is focusing on spending more time with Khari. I'm not talking just looking and watching I'm talking I'm going full dad mode. We have crayons, markers, poster boards. I made a sensory station. I bought boxes to do projects. Clubhouse in the process. Pictures coming soon. This is time you can use to your advantage. We cant go anywhere. Why not open your imagination a little and be a kid again with your...

He didnt come with instructions

Talking to other parents young and old I have come to one conclusion NO ONE knows what they are doing. Everyone walking around looking like perfect parents like they got it together. They don't...They have no idea what they they are doing. There is no formula, structure, or plan that can prepare you for that first child. Now don't mistake this for saying you can't have a plan and structure, but sometimes that can get thrown out of the window. People think the same things that worked for them will work for their child or someone else child. But no set of instructions would fit for All children. So what do you do when your child doesn't fit in the instructions you thought they would follow? You adjust. Sure in a perfect world my Son would sing like John Legend, act like Denzel, smart like Carter G Woodson, and athletic like LeBron. But what do you do when their interest are completely different from yours? What if your son wants to be a ballet dancer? Do you discourage h...

I will have the conversation pieces where I talk about different topics. I will provide tips that I have created or seen online and found helpfu...

What about the training?

The night my son was born was definitely one of the best moments of my life. Before I get into that let me tell you the process before hand. So this being our first baby we decided to take the birthing classes. You learn about the birthing process, contractions, etc. So we are taking these classes I'm All-in, I got the times, birthing plan, ready to go! Funny thing about plans are they can sometimes change. Khari was originally due in March here we are February 20th thinking we have plenty of time and everything is about to change. It is pouring raining outside I'm talking floods everywhere, a drive that normally takes 40 minutes took almost 2 hours to get to Jeannine parents house. Little did we know this entire time Jeannine is actually going through the birthing process on the way. We get to the house maybe 15 minutes in Jeannine is the bathroom and water is everywhere on the floor. All my training at this point is out of the window because the contractions dont fit what the...
