What about the training?

The night my son was born was definitely one of the best moments of my life. Before I get into that let me tell you the process before hand. So this being our first baby we decided to take the birthing classes. You learn about the birthing process, contractions, etc. So we are taking these classes I'm All-in, I got the times, birthing plan, ready to go! Funny thing about plans are they can sometimes change. Khari was originally due in March here we are February 20th thinking we have plenty of time and everything is about to change. It is pouring raining outside I'm talking floods everywhere, a drive that normally takes 40 minutes took almost 2 hours to get to Jeannine parents house. Little did we know this entire time Jeannine is actually going through the birthing process on the way. We get to the house maybe 15 minutes in Jeannine is the bathroom and water is everywhere on the floor. All my training at this point is out of the window because the contractions dont fit what the nurse told me. Her contractions are so close we have to take the ambulance to the hospital. Now we are flying in the ambulance in the thunderstorm to the hospital which is about 15 minutes away. We get to the room were they like check your vitals. The nurse checks Jeannine and says she is fully dilated and she would have to deliver right there. Fully Dilated! Hold up! What happened to the spaced out contractions, rubbing the belly, singing the songs? We just going to skip all that? Mind you this is about 20 minutes since her water burst. So they assemble a team like the Avengers. Now I have a leg in my arm and we all saying push. We have a whole birthing team in the small room. And out comes Khari in less than an hour. Once he is checked out we are able to actually check in and go to hospital room. I can definitely say it wasn't what they wrote in the books but you have to be prepared for anything. That is something me and my wife will always remember. What are your crazy stories? Did you take classes?

I've heard so many stories. Try birthing right after playing tennis.
